Uncas Health District is responsible for licensing and/or regulating numerous activities as required by the Connecticut General Statutes, the Connecticut Public Health Code and local (District) regulations. We work closely with various departments in our member municipalities to ensure that the public health aspect of various activities (development, building, nuisance conditions, etc.) is fully considered.

Consistent enforcement of these statutes, codes and regulations across the District ensures that residents and businesses receive fair and equitable services. Our Environmental Health Department strives to be a partner for residents and businesses who are required to comply with necessary guidelines that are designed to protect the public from environmental conditions that may be detrimental. Our Sanitarians pride themselves on thorough and timely response to the community needs.
